Dress by HER was founded by Daisy Khanimamba Chauke at the young age of 19. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management from the University of Johannesburg. While her initial aspiration was to qualify as a Chartered Accountant, her deep-rooted passion for fashion ultimately guided her entrepreneurial journey.
With a foundation in accounting, Daisy upholds the core principles of the profession which are integrity, professionalism, competence, objectivity, and confidentiality and she integrates these values into the operations of her business.
Dress by HER began humbly in a small family cottage with limited inventory. Despite facing financial constraints, Daisy was determined to build a successful brand. When an appeal for dress donations from friends proved mostly unsuccessful, she adopted a creative marketing strategy. She began collecting magazines and design templates of high-end dresses, which she used to showcase her vision to potential clients from within her modest space.
Word spread quickly across the province, and soon, clients were visiting from far and wide, captivated by her transparency, work ethic, and commitment to excellence. Her growing reputation led to a surge in demand, and within six months, her original space could no longer accommodate her expanding collection.
Today, Dress by HER operates from a boutique in Wilro Park and Pretoria. The bridal shop holds a collection of over 200 custom-made bridal and matric dance dresses—testament to Daisy’s perseverance, innovation, and unwavering dedication to her craft

Dress by H.e.r was first discovered in her family cottage and she had limited stock. She was determined to make her business a  success, but she did not have enough financial capital. She asked a few of her friends to donate their farewell dresses but majority refused. She decided to use a different marketing approach whereby she would collect magazines and templates of designer dresses that she would display in her family cottage.
Clients came across the province to see her designer templates and majority of her clients were very intrigued. It is because of her integrity ,transparency and dedication to her work  that her clients were willing to support her. 6 months later her family cottage become too small to accommodate all her dresses. She moved her bridal shop to Wilro Park and she currently has over 200 custom made wedding dresses and matric dance dresses.
